ANDERSON – Tuesday was the last day at work for several AnMed Health employees who refused to get a mandatory flu shot and are instead being fired or resigning. There were a half dozen employees who did not take the mandatory shots or receive a medical exemption, said Heidi Charalambous, spokeswoman for the health-care provider.

Those employees had until 5 p.m. Tuesday to get the shot or they were “allowed to resign” or were fired under the flu vaccine policy that was announced to employees Sept. 15. Charalambous said Tuesday that Bertha Hunter, a food service employee who is suing AnMed Health over the mandatory policy, voluntarily resigned last week. (south carolina)
