PUNE: City and PCMC hospitals have 18 patients in ICU with 12 of them confirmed cases of H1N1. Eight patients are battling for life on ventilators in different hospitals. Positive cases so far in the city has crossed the figure of 1,000.

Joint director of health Dr Ashok Mehta said, “Three patients in Sassoon hospital, two in Sahyadri Munot, one each in Jehangir, Deenanath Mangeshkar and Command hospital are on ventilators.”

City and PCMC hospitals have so far reported 43 H1N1 s and number of positive cases so far is 1005, said Mehta. On Sunday, National Institute of Virology (NIV) has confirmed 20 swab samples as positive cases of H1N1.
