Bolivian confirms first cases of A/H1N1 2009-05-29 10:37:56  

   LA PAZ, May 28 (Xinhua) — Bolivia’s Health Ministry on Thursday confirmed the country’s first two cases of A/H1N1 flu. Health officials appealed for calmness while promising vigorous measures to control the disease.

   According to Health Minister Ramiro Tapia, the two patients arrived in the eastern city of Santa Cruz from New York, the United States, on May 24 and both were tested positive at the National Center for Tropical Diseases.

   The patients’ samples have been sent to the U.S. Center for Diseases Control (CDC) and the final confirmation will come out on Tuesday.
