NEW DELHI, May 16 (Bernama) — A 23-year-old man, who arrived at the central Indian city of Hyderabad airport from the United States, has been found to be infected with influenza A H1N1, China’s Xinhua news agency quoted the Health Ministry as saying Saturday.

This is the first case of swine flu (influenza A/H1N1) in India.

The person is being treated with anti-influenza drugs Oseltamivir and Afebrile, said the ministry, adding that all the passengers who came in contact with the infected person are also being monitored.

Over the past several weeks, India had tested negative more than 40 suspected cases of H1N1 flu.
