Two new confirmed cases of influenza A (H1N1) in Cuba, so now add the three infected, all Mexican students who returned from medical leave from their country. Text of the official note from the Ministry of Public Health:
As known, the last day May 9, the Ministry of Public Health reported the first confirmed case of Influenza A (H1N1) in our country, the patient is a Mexican student studying in one of our medical Program Training Latin American Physicians Jaguey Grande, province of Matanzas. At the note that were reported in other surveillance and monitoring students who had respiratory symptomatology.
As a result of virological studies, conducted at the Institute of Tropical Medicine Pedro Kouri, have confirmed two additional cases for Mexican students from the same center in the group who had respiratory symptomatology. The evolution of these three patients has been favorable, all have received antiviral treatment with oseltamivir and no adverse reactions have occurred. Eleven of the 15 cases with symptoms have been discharged, only four remained hospitalized evolving favorably.
The other students and school workers have been treated quimioprofiláctico and remain asymptomatic. There are all the safeguards and conditions for the care and attention in this center. Continues the rigorous epidemiological study and taking the appropriate care measures.
